Local support continues

Oxspring residents will remember the "Stakeholder Wall" appeal held locally at the end of last year to raise funds for the utilities connections to the proposed changing facility on the playingfield. Well good news - and we could do with some! Just short of £600 has already been pledged to display business, family or individual names on a wall within the changing rooms commemorating local financial support.
What? You missed out! Just contact me through this website and details will be sent of how you can help.

Retreat to live to fight another day

Following the devastating news about losing Sport England support the Trustees began a search to find another major donor to replace the £50,000 grant. Nothing is available in these harsh economic times as ours is the wrong kind of deprivation. This meant that there has had to be a withdrawal of our application to the Football Foundation for their £100,000 grant, whilst still retaining their strong national and local support.

The man from Sport England he say NO!

Devastating news just in.
Sport England have rejected our application for £50,000 towards the construction of our changing facilities.
This puts us in a difficult position as the other bid to the Football Foundation for £100,000 was dependant on the £50k from SE being added to that £50K already in place from Oxspring JFC, enabling FF to match the total raised.
The charity will now have to reveiw the whole project and decide on how we can move forward with the project in the current difficult economic times.

Your name on the wall?

We need to raise £10k towards the £30k cost of connecting the services to the new changing facility and you can help.
There will be a stakeholder's wall inside part of the new building with engraved brass plaques with your name on it, but it will cost you.
Just your name - first and family name, for £25*
Your family's names - family name and their first names, for £100*
Your business or company name - title and website address, for £250
* If you are a tax payer then through Gift Aid we can get a further 20% from HMRC at no cost to you

Keep Our Kids Safe

As part of fundraising to build our new changing rooms - £235,000 needed! those of you not speeding into Oxspring from Thurgoland will have spotted the banner on the playingfield car park fence announcing our local fundraising attempts. We aim to raise £10,000 locally to go with the £54,500 already in the bag and the £160,000 plus already applied for and awaiting replies to. By having the changing rooms on the playingfield our junior footballers will not have to cross the busy Sheffield Road and be able to change in modern facilities.
